PAIR OF SAMSON FAMILLE VERTE AND POWDER BLUE GROUND JARS AND COVERS both marked under base with an underglaze blue fungus amidst grasses within a double circle and an 'S' by the foot ring, both decorated with alternating shaped cartouches enclosing either Buddhistic emblems and scholar's objects or flowers, tree and rockwork between thin patterned bands and flower-filled lappers at the shoulder or leafy cartouches near the base, the domed covered decorated with plants in shaped panels and all reserved on the variegated bright blue ground (2) - h:13.50 in.
