CHINESE SUMMER HAT AND BOX, QING DYNASTY (LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY) the hat is conical with long red fringe around the center, which is a circular brocade applique, included below the hat is a mottled gold glass finial, and a peacock feather issuing from a jadeite glass cylinder with attachment of peacock feather and horse hair, and a gilt metal pin with flat top, dia: 12 in., all within a lacquered pigskin box, the box with a continuous landscape to the exterior and a paper label glued inside
