WEDGWOOD BLACK BASALT OVAL PLAQUE, ‘THE JUDGMENT OF HERCULES’ late 18th Century, impressed uppercase mark, the center molded in relief with the parable of Hercules at the crossroads choosing between ‘Virtue’ and ‘Vice’, approx. h: 8 1/2 x w: 11 1/2 in., mounted on a red velvet and giltwood frame, h: 12 1/2 x w: 15 3/4 in.
