Eugenia Shankland was a member of the Life Class of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. "A portrait painter in Washington, Miss Shankland was eminently successful and painted several fine altar pieces -- the work which attracted most attention was her copy of Washington, now in the room of the Vice-president of the Senate."
